There are days when our Earth is so extraordinarily beautiful, and this was one of those days. The temperature was 78 degrees and it was sunny with clear air.
A gentle breeze….everything green from our recent rains….cicadas singing…..squirrels beginning their Fall dances. All of my being just goes “ahhh”.

After yesterday’s pretty serious Musing on Wisdom, today is lighter. I felt Wisdom AS all of the beauty of Earth. I felt how woven I am into the fabric of all of nature. Everything was playing today. Such fun!

EMERGENCE is so close to being available for general sale. EMERGENCE is about WISDOM emerging through Mother EARTH and tells her story.
This music and myself are totally interwoven. So….as WISDOM is being storied in the music of EMERGENCE, so SHE must be the anchor of my life.

This week I’m exploring the difference between action taken through WISDOM and action taken through my mind. Many things have come to help me understand what WISDOM really is for me at this time in my life.

All of the music I compose comes from WISDOM. All of my technical training in music could not produce the inspiration for my music, and it could not allow me to play a track of music with no written notes, and then go back and add the second track of music with no written notes….and on and on through the many number of tracks. My mind could not create the richness of story that my music tells.

WISDOM gives me my dream world. SHE brings forward images from other times and places…..people, places that I have not met in this life. SHE combines imagery in dreams that lead me into a larger SELF.

WISDOM gives me a way of looking at life and my own journey that is compassionate, with unconditional love, kindness, strength. My mind tends to look at history and say “It’s happened this way, and so this is what will happen again”. That is NOT Wisdom. My mind tends to create negative stories such as “I should discontinue this project because it is not making money like I want; or taking up too much time; or I can’t see the result or end goal.”
WISDOM looks at the larger picture. What is the support of this project for me and for others? What is the spiritual story? There is never an end goal in WISDOM.

WISDOM nurtures me in love. SHE tells me what a deep, rich soul life I have as a human being. SHE reminds me of my sacred purpose and how important it is. SHE encourages me to continue to explore because my creative process has enormous worth. SHE has words for me of love, or support. My mind criticizes me and tells me that I don’t have the right credentials, or don’t know enough, or am not a good enough person. It is a tearing down of my being. It is NOT Wisdom.

Or…..my mind can create wonderful fantasy stories that are based in my ego.
These stories are wishful, not in my purpose, not capable of being acted on in the world. My mind does not understand the world of spirit…the interconnectedness of all things. So it creates wonderful projects which are ego-enhancing but not really part of my life purpose. WISDOM KNOWS how projects, relationships, composing, etc. are all interrelated with the world weaving and with all of the unseen world. SHE speaks about possibilities and how in the larger picture these possibilities can come into physical form. WISDOM knows these things.

So this week, as I prepare for EMERGENCE to come out and for the HEALING MUSIC to come out, I am looking at all aspects of my life. Where am I making decisions based on Mind, and where am I conforming my life to WISDOM?
EMERGENCE is the coming forth of WISDOM into the world….and especially into my own world in a deeper way.

There is a beautiful picture of Wisdom in the Book of Sirach, written around 200 BC (24:1:13-19) “Wisdom sings her own praises, before her own people she proclaims her glory. Like a cedar on Lebanon I am raised aloft, like a cypress on Mount Hermon, like a palm tree in Engedi, like a rosebush in Jericho, like a fair olive tree in the field…like cinnamon, or fragrant balm, or precious myrrh, I give forth perfume…I spread out my branches like a terebinth, my branches are so bright and so graceful. I bud forth delights like the vine, my blossoms become fruit fair and rich. Come to me all you that yearn for me, and be filled with my fruits; you will remember me as sweeter than honey, better to have than the honeycomb.” End of quote.

Preparing for a new album to come out means hearing Wisdom speak within me in a new way. This process is the key, core, most important part of this adventure.

One of the most energizing aspects of recording music has been composing and recording music that dips into the energy and essence of animals. As I sit here writing, I am listening to birdsong of robins, cardinals, mourning dove, red winged blackbirds….morning song….recorded by Tom Tempel at his lake house, and placed with the beautiful strings, flute of the Kurzweil. About 4-1/2 minutes of beauty which will be available to you for free download after Labor Day.

Now the wolf is howling to the moon….actually several wolves….with the gong, and the breathe of the Kurzweil wood flute….my drumming….the awesome Kurzweil sound that I call the primordial sea sound….the wolf is running across white with white light surrounding him….snowy plains and the moon. This particular piece of music is the aspect of wolf which lives in the unknown worlds….intuitive….communicator….Available for free download after September 18th. Almost 5 minutes of music.

The hawk screams….answered by other hawk….carried on the wind recorded by Tom….the pulse of the earth drum…..the Kurzweil strings evoking the vastness of sky…hawk flying free…open to all potential….hawk as visionary. Available for free download after October 2nd.

There is a myth “out there” that people who are interested in meditation, the world of spirit, power animals, the energy body, etc. can’t learn how to download. Not true! It’s so easy and instructions for downloading will be included with the page on the website. Age doesn’t matter either. One of the fastest growing groups of people who are extremely good on the computer is the group from 50-80 years old.

Go for it!

This weekend Walter and I celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. When we were married in 1967 we just knew that all things were possible. We had no money and Walter still had to finish his bachelor’s degree. I dropped out of college to get a job. Our children started coming within the first two years of marriage. Life was actually very hard after the initial “euphoria” of falling in love and having the first apartment. I can remember being so very tired…trying to work a job in the business world and stay up at nights with small children and babies. I can remember how stressful it was not knowing where the money was going to come from for food, doctors, school expenses. Walter worked sometimes three jobs at the same time. It is REALLY difficult to have a personal relationship, or an intimate relationship with your spouse when both of you are exhausted and stressed.

In spite of all of this….our children grew up to be exceptional people who are loving, kind, open, and excellent parents.

Because of all of the difficulties of our early and middle years of marriage, I have been molded into more of who I am meant to be in this lifetime. The difficulties were a grace!

40 years of marriage to the same person has taught me so many things. Walter and I have made, on a deep level, a commitment to explore the unseen world, the body as an energy system, creativity, and relationship. When difficulty comes forward, we make the decision to work it through as spiritual transformation. We don’t always do it perfectly, and sometimes it takes a long time to move a core issue through our marriage. But we love each other and that takes care of a lot of problems.

40 years of marriage has taught me to look beyond the personality issues, to look beyond what seems to be “real” but really is not. It has taught me patience (not my easiest quality). It continues to teach me trust, communication, and how to be myself and yet be in such a deep relationship. Walter and I desire to support each other to our highest potential, not to feed into any small, limited perceptions or actions. This is why we are in relationship.

Of course, this marriage has given us our three (now adult) children who are awesome. I would not EVER have missed the opportunity to give birth to my boys, and to raise them into adulthood with Walter. This has been sometimes difficult, but always wonderful. We shared common beliefs about how to raise a family. As life is an expansive gift….our family has expanded to include much loved daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. What a gift!!!

What are the chances that two people who have a purpose to explore transformation and the energies of the unseen world would meet in a Catholic university, get married, and stay married despite all difficulties, and sometimes some real trauma? It must be SOUL purpose for both Walter and myself.

Walter did indeed come back from his trip to Honduras transformed, and so it is my part now to also continue to transform as we co-create our relationship.

This week I created the first three 4-5 minute pieces of music for free download which expand upon the Earth Trilogy music which celebrates Mother Earth (Heart of Sky/Heart of Earth, EMERGENCE, and a yet unknown third album in this trilogy). Watch for my e-broadcast that they are up and available for free download on the website. The first new piece is called “Soaring High” and is about HAWK. The second new piece is called “Birds of the Morning” and celebrates all of the smaller birds of the Midwest which contribute their heart song as the sun rises. The third new piece is called knower of the unseen and it honors that particular aspect of WOLF.

Today is about gentleness and rest in the midst of much loved activity. As Diane said in her comments this morning: Breathe deeply and release “ahhhhhhhhh”

Boy is it hot! We are having an unusual summer, and especially these last days (and looking to all of next week) of temperatures 90 or higher with no rain.
We are reading a lot about Mother Earth and her attempts to communicate with us…we are not hearing very well….and her necessary balancing of forces which are out of balance. I wonder what this is telling me. For sure, I am very much in tune with the plants and animals who need me for water. The plants have to be moved from the direct, hot sun, into cooler places. When it is beautiful outside, it is easy to admire the beauty of nature and maybe take it for granted. When Earth is hot and dry…I take action to help out.

This reminds me of my own life process. When things are going easily and I am not being challenged, I always enjoy the gift. When life becomes unsettling…..when change is happening….when my mind cannot determine results….when emotions may run high…..when my body is shifting into a new energy….all of this is when I have the most growth. I take more time to go deep into the unseen world to ask for guidance and support….and what I am to do. The unseen world….SHE WHO IS….always is present for loving support and wisdom.

So Mother Earth….what are you asking of us?

Walt (my husband) is on a trip to Copan, Honduras until August 9th with Conrad and a group. This intense time of retreat will bring him home a different person, and a rested person. So…..since we are co-creating a relationship together, I have to become also a different person. This is pretty exciting, and I mean that sincerely! Can’t wait.

All of my creativity continues to be on “high rev”. I am already feeling the third album in the Earth trilogy. Album one: Heart of Sky/Heart of Earth; Album Two: Emergence; Album Three: The Alive, Sensual Earth (I have no idea what the name of this album is).

So all sorts of options start to come forward: Can I release a three album set called the Earth Trilogy?

Here’s another idea: Tempel Recording has the capability to create a video interview with me which could be put at the beginning or end of an album……or as a separate DVD enclosed with the album…..or as part of the Earth Trilogy…..the possibilities are endless it feels.

Here’s another idea: How about a meditation to this music???

In two weeks, I will be recording the five minute pieces about the Earth which will be available for free download….one piece every other week. This is my way of expanding on the Earth Trilogy which can’t possibly contain all of the wonders of Mother Earth. They will start appearing on my website and on the myspace website the first week in September. Look for them.

The Healing Music album has taken off “whoosh”"! I am shipping quantities to places in the US and in Canada. How cool is that! The more all of my music gets out, the more it can touch people’s lives. My purpose is service through the creation and performance of transformational music that carries the life of compassion, unconditional love, kindness, courage…all of which is transformational and healing. Teaching is in there somewhere also.
SO….sales = service. Sales = my music touching people’s lives. From this perspective, marketing becomes important. People cannot buy what they don’t know. Marketing become sacred. I have discovered that I can market from the same place that I compose. It saves me a lot of time, anguish, money, discomfort, etc. to market from the space of the unknown world.

To all of you companion adventurers…..Hooray for you! We’re all in this together, helping one another, inspiring one another. May we encourage each other to be as LARGE as we can be in this lifetime.
